why Strength training is essential for hormones

    Positive Impacts after Resistance Training

    • Testosterone spikes, which matters if we want more drive, better moods, a sharper brain and better libido.
    • Estrogen dominance is also reduced by lowering inflammation and raising progesterone, which helps with heavy periods, PMS and breast tenderness.
    • Boosts Growth Hormone & IGF-1, which repairs tissue, build lean muscle and slow aging.
    • Reduces Cortisol long term by acting as a controlled stressor, which strengthens the nervous system over time.   The lowering of baseline cortisol improves sleep and builds stress resilience.
    • Improves Insulin Sensitivity which means better blood sugar control, easier fat loss and stable energy, improving anxiety and brain fog.

    It's not all about looks!

Strength training helps regulate Testosterone, Estrogen, Growth hormone, Cortisol, Insulin.  It's one of the most effective hormone therapies we have.

Why pilates isn't enough for older females

    Positive Impacts after Resistance Training

    • Pilates is good for core strength and for developing proprioception (body control), however it's a slow build.
    • It doesn't act as the stressor required to stimulate the muscle growth needed to help women combat the effects of  hormone changes in mid/later life.
    • Lifting heavy weights stimulates the neuromuscular connections needed to force your muscle fibres to adapt, change and rebuild.

    It's not an alternative!

Keep going to Pilates if you enjoy it, but don't use it as an alternative to proper strength training.

Muscle is your organ of longevity

Muscle gives you freedom in your later years.

    • Muscle enables you to be self sufficient your senior years, allowing you to remain active and enjoy the independence you deserve.
    • Integrated strength training improves balance and mobility as well as building and sustaining lean mass.
    • Your muscle composition is the only thing that's going to help you "age young", start planing for your older years now.

    Think ahead!

If you're worried about aging you should be worried about your muscle composition.  Muscle if the only thing that's going to help you age gracefully.
